Crypto Refund Scams

If you have lost money in crypto currency – BEWARE – Phony “Refund and Recovery” scams might come at you next.

Hackers setup a fake “get your crypto cash back” website, including one that may look like it comes from the United States Department of State.

Typically those who respond by phone, e-mail or social media – they ask for personal ID information plus an advance fee for their services payable by – you guessed it -“Gift Cards”.

Crypto Investments are not insured by the FDIC the way a bank account is insured.  Money lost in crypto are gone – don’t trust anyone who says they can get your money back.
